Macy snores sooo very loud!!!
I love her dearly, but this snoring is really disruptive to my sleep. I sometimes forget how disruptive it is until she is gone a few days and I get to sleep through the night. Its miraculous!!! The thing is its not just snoring! She makes these crazy sounds that sound like children, and sometimes the noises are incorporated into my dreams. It's BIZARRE!!
Here is the conundrum, I miss her dearly when she is not all snuggled up next to me, but I can't sleep with her snoring!
What to do? What to do?

********Emergency Alert System!*******
The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a national public warning system that allows the President or other state and/or local officials to address the American Public in a state of emergency... Our local stations are required to transmit a test once a week at random. According to the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau.
At random...hummm...I don't believe EVERY Tuesday midday is at random. Do you? That seems to be the trend, I notice this cause I am watching TV at this time...One of the perks of unemployment! I wonder though, wouldn't it be "better" to transmit this test at the time with the highest viewing? This way the .gov could prepare the most amount of people. Although with the unemployment rate so high, perhaps midday Tuesday is reaching the highest number of people. The test only takes 10 seconds, and you can't change the channel! And I'm guessing that in a state of emergency there are is a very low number of people who know to turn to radio or TV for directions/assistance. Furthermore I wonder how many people have a " disaster emergency kit" and plan ready!
Are YOU ready?
Recommended Items to Include in a Basic Emergency Supply Kit:
* Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation
* Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
* Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert and extra batteries for both
* Flashlight and extra batteries
* First aid kit
* Whistle to signal for help
* Dust mask, to help filter contaminated air and plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-place
* Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
* Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
* Can opener for food (if kit contains canned food)
* Local maps
* Cell phone with chargers
Additional Items to Consider Adding to an Emergency Supply Kit:
* Prescription medications and glasses
* Infant formula and diapers
* Pet food and extra water for your pet
* Important family documents such as copies of insurance policies, identification and bank account records in a waterproof, portable container
* Cash or traveler's checks and change
* Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person. Consider additional bedding if you live in a cold-weather climate.
* Complete change of clothing including a long sleeved shirt, long pants and sturdy shoes. Consider additional clothing if you live in a cold-weather climate.
* Household chlorine bleach and medicine dropper – When diluted nine parts water to one part bleach, bleach can be used as a disinfectant. Or in an emergency, you can use it to treat water by using 16 drops of regular household liquid bleach per gallon of water. Do not use scented, color safe or bleaches with added cleaners.
* Fire Extinguisher
* Matches in a waterproof container
* Feminine supplies and personal hygiene items
* Mess kits, paper cups, plates and plastic utensils, paper towels
* Paper and pencil
* Books, games, puzzles or other activities for children
Yikes, I am SOOO NOT ready!! This looks like a great unemployment project!! Dollar Store, here I come!

Run Kristi Run
I kicked off my morning at 6:00am, seriously I haven't been up at that hour on purpose in a REALLY long time!! The upside of unemployment, sleeping in! I woke up at 5:45 to prepare for my run. By prepare I mean I checked the weather (look outside), got bummed it wasn't raining to save me from running, got dressed cause you had NO excuse not to run, made a cup of coffee (note that all of this "preparation" up until this point besides dressing has been mental!!), and hit the pavement. The only issue here is that I can never remember the walk path gate code to get out of my neighborhood. I had to HOP my fence to get out of my gated community, the downside to a gated community, upside is that is safe!! Although I have now proven its not that hard for someone with long legs to get in! With all these obstacles I am really surprise that I have not turned back and headed to bed!! But driven by good health, lower stress, a great running partner, and well maybe a Mexico ready body, I run on!!

Always Makes My Day!
Telling someone I love them always makes me feel fantastic, as I never want someone to not know how I feel about them.
But when someone shows you how much they love you, its even better. Especially when they make it their goal to make you smile and love making you smile...that is unselfish/unconditional love.
I can't stop thinking about the importance of unselfish love...I do it, but struggle with letting someone do it for me. Perhaps I need a change of heart!

Hallelujah for this Photoshop Tutorial
For years now I have owned and semi-operated the Adobe Creative Suite, but only recently have I been able to REALLY use Photoshop. I totally get Illustrator, and Illustrator gets me. But Photoshop and I have had a rough start. Typically my vast (sarcasm, pure sarcasm) patience kicks in, and I email one of my dear digitally savvy friends to save me! Masking or removing a background has seemed like the Mt. Everest of digital design, but after having quite a bit of time on my hands, and wanting to "produce" (or screw around) something I have conquered my Photoshop fear with this easy "step by step". I am now a masking machine! I thought I would share it with you!!

Now if I could only network my laptop and desktop to make it easier to access files and pictures...Hello K2 (the second largest mountain in the world)!!

Hallway Crushes
So I was driving home from Hanford yesterday on Hwy 41, and saw a familiar face from Cal Poly driving next to me. But I can't for the life of me remember his name. (Clearly early onset of Alzheimer's).The funniest part of all of this is that I had the hugest hallway crush on this guy! It was a pleasant little surprise!! It brought back a little bit of nervousness, the way a great crush does!
